Never heard of a 60* v8. Plenty of 60* v6's and 90* v8's but never a 60* v8.

There are some 60 degree V8's. The main problem with them is that at 60 degrees a V8 is naturally unbalanced. Thats why all production V8's are 90 degree.

Ford already has done this with the 2nd gen Taurus (3.4 v8). Jag and LandRover also uses a Ford 60% V8 (5.0 V8). A flat plane crank will work too.:ford:

The V8 purists are just the same types who refused to move away from carburetors when TBI/MFI/EFI came onto the scene.

"It'll never be as reliable as a simple carb"

"If they don't offer the 86 Mustang with a carb I guess I'll just be keeping my older cars, fail Ford"

"Real Mustangs have pushrod V8's, that whole OHC cam thing isn't going to last"

Change is scary.

It just beat a bunch of V-8s. So what.:ford:
Meh. Still not a V8. It's like saying you spanked a Ferrari in your Civic. In the end, it's still a Civic.

Can't beat the sound of a cammed and centi-supercharged V8. IMO of course!

I am afraid of change. The day a Mustang doesn't come with a V8 is the day Mustang dies. Real talk. :gossip:
