Turns out my speeding ticket isn't so bad here in Vegas. Got caught going 100+ (was slowing down ). Cop was cool just put 99 and didn't hit me up with reckless driving etc. So turns out no points just a $233 fine, cool.

I don't want to start racking these up so definitely going to look at a really really good scanner. Do these things actually work? Some people swear by them. My last car was an 08 Aveo with 100 horsepower so know nothing about police scanners.

Meh 100 is nothing on freeways out there in the desert. Thats not even that fast. I would get an escort passport 8500 x50 over a scanner. Got one, love it.

If you meant Radar Detector I would go for the Valentine V1 its a little pricy but It has saved me more than enough times when I lived out in CA. Unfortunately in VA radar is illegal here

+1

The Valentine 1 is what I'm picking up. It can do everything you need and has the best detection range.

I nominate the Escort Passport 9500ix. It has GPS false alarm lockout when you pass 3 times. Also speed camera and red light camera warning database.

Ok, I'll be THAT guy: "The best and cheapest solution of all: Don't speed."

In Europe these things are illegal to even have in many countries, let alone installed in a moving car.

stop driving that fast on public roads, please.

I will agree on any road other than a 4+ lane, barrier separated highway. There are many reasons for speed limits, but most set in the 90's and even prior. With today's advancements, I venture to say speed limits should be revised on mentioned roads. This is a topic of discussion somewhere else.

To answer OP, the escort 9500 and Valentine V1 are the best in the market. Then there are the deep pocket jammer systems, upwards of $600. Some say they also work, others say they are useless. You pump enough microwave energy to cook a turkey back at a cop and I believe it'll render the radar useless, lol.

I think you mis-placed this post, surly it was targeted for the Focus Forum???
I certainly do not come to this forum to read stupid ethics debates, take that somewhere else.

Lord Thunder has never exceeded the speed limit, not even by 1 MPH! Except that time he put bigger rubber on his rims and the speedo read incorrectly. He promptly decided to notify the police officer in order to receive a ticket for his actions, was let off with a warning due to honesty.
