That's what I'm running and I love it. If you wanted to hear it irl plus other options you could come to the starting point of the cruise this Sunday in Freo :).
Thanks Zee
Since I'm closer to Mandurah I will see you all at the finish of the cruise

My setup is "similar". Headers, H pipe, 3" system, hotdog per side, Magnaflow comp AB. It's loud, crazy and DEEP!
If you stick with the factory headers and smaller exhaust system that entails, it won't be AS crazy.
The setup you're talking about will sound damn sweet.
Lethal have a good vid here, just be sure to listen to it on a good stereo system.
That does sound very good Burkey!
It's cut off the high frequency stuff very nicely. I hate raspy exhausts.

Kooks Headers

Has anyone fitted the RHD Kooks Headers yet? If so any opinions on them besides maybe being a bit over priced?

Been ringing around today and I've been surprised at how much just headers are going to cost to match up to the stock exhaust, makes the Kooks not look so bad and it will bolt straight up. It is seriously better value getting a complete system but I've already invested a bit in my current setup and with the GT350 valance they will all need to be modified anyway.

Also which hardware have people used for securing the headers? I have been told by a couple of shops the original studs are a one time use item and they replace them with bolts. A few kits floating around from ARP, MMR and Stage 8.

From what I understand, the Kooks headers are running a 400 CEL cat, (maybe 300?). As far as the studs are concerned, I think most are using bolts because you physically can't present the headers to the engine with the studs in place, through lack of clearance. There's no way mine were going to fit with the studs there, I can say that for sure.

You may be right there, can't find a definitive answer myself but I think they're off the list again. Was hoping to be able to find a solution I can completely do myself as everything else has been but this is going to be one job that will end up in a shop now. Leaning towards Hurricane.

I'm in the exact same position as you. I want to be able to fit headers completely by myself. If I use anything other than the Kooks headers I will have to get the car to an exhaust shop running the headers only for custom mid section to be made (or just get them to do the whole job).

After hearing Burkey's experience of adding headers with centre hotdogs and straight through rear mufflers (read: LOUD) I am moving away from that plan anyway.

So now I am leaning towards the Hurricane full system. Just need finances to catch up to my spending as that makes headers an expensive mod.

I have the MBRP Street catback. Very loud and raspy. But I absolutely love it. That's why I'm reluctant to change :(

My current setup gets a bit of rasp going aswell up in the higher rpm's and I actually like it, sorta sounds like an exotic supercar but still muscle car when driving around normally.

The cost of these full systems has me confused with what to do, really want to just walk in and get the full Hurricane system but it wlll then need to be modified to suit the GT350 valance, Hurricane headers and custom pipes will end up costing the same anyway. That is why I was looking at the Kooks Headers, matches straight up to what's their already and I can give it a go myself. Lund Racing have also recommended I go with Kooks headers as they have had good results with them compared to others.

If anyone is looking at the Kooks headers try US vendors, there is a decent amount of money to be saved rather than buying locally and you will get it quicker from what I've found.

Well firstly to clear up a few misconceptions and misleading comments re KOOKS RHD Headers and pricing.

1. The KOOKS Headers with the Green Cats use a 300 Cell cat which will enable them to out flow anything available here in Aus just on Cat flow only as most companies here use a 100 cell cat.
Can you clarify this point Fred?

Are you saying that a 300 cell cat will flow better than a 100 cell?

Have you considered Streetfighter Headers and performance Mustang exhausts

 • Smooth deep V8 supercar sound from our centre 3 inch X pipe and massive 3 inch resonators.
 • NO rasp , NO Drone guaranteed
 • 3 inch stainless steel mandrel bend piping into 3 inch rear SLC single or dual tip stainless steel mufflers.
 • Stainless steel twin skin 4 inch tips. Available in single and dual outlets
Australias only performance exhaust systems that includes a 3 Year Driveline Warranty!

Streetfighter exhausts utilise an X pipe merge and premium SLC resonators and mufflers for a much deeper, smoother V8 Supercar note.

Our challenge is to listen for the sound , quality and performance from our Australian
manufactured premium systems when looking for a Mustang Exhaust.

5. Price I can normally match and in most cases better any of the legitimate online pricing that you will find on KOOKS and you will have the backup here for any questions or issues.

Hope the above info helps in your decisions when deciding on headers.
Thanks Fred, you will be getting a phone call from me in the next day or 2! Are the Kooks Headers ceramic coated or offered in a version with ceramic coating?

I did go down this path until I saw the price. I need to get the rear section of the exhaust modified or custom made to suit the GT350 Valance so any saving I get from finding a good deal is wiped out every time.

Seriously now thinking of just getting the Kooks or someone elses reasonably priced headers and getting a full custom exhaust made as it will end up being heaps cheaper than anything on the shelf for my situation.

Um, the H pipe is raspier than the X? Since when?
MOST of the Americans are running X pipes. The MBRP is one of the few that uses an H...

Pacemaker or hurricane headers are the Aussie options, custom mid pipe to mate up to your axlebacks (I'm assuming that is what you have now with the gt350 bumper). Then you can choose whatever crossover you want, x, h, double x, true dual with no crossover pipe etc
