I was hoping someone could confirm or deny if this is a normal noise on a 5.0. I have read tons of posts on the coyote tic but this noise only occurs on cold start and then lasts roughly a minute or two. It almost sounds like a chirp so thinking maybe the cam phasers? The video is a little long so you can hear the engine on initial start and then the noise starts at around 50 seconds in and lasts until about 2 minutes or so. Does anyone else’s car do this and is it normal noise for a 5.0. The car is a 2021 Mach 1 I bought new in June only has 520 miles on it. It has done this since new, no better no worse. The video was too big to upload so I tried to create a YouTube video.

Sounds like a healthy Coyote to me. These are noisy engines. You should have heard the BMW E92 M3 with its S65 engine.

That’s good to hear. I love the car and hate to take it to the dealer to investigate. The weird thing is it comes and goes only on cold start and lasts a minute or so

Mine has made that noise for over 2 years now and my car runs great. I didn’t want to take it to the dealer either, so I’ve just let it be for now.

Is it the same in that it only happens on cold start and then goes away after a minute or two?

I thought it may have been a bad pulley, so I ordered the Steeda idler and tensioner pulleys and an MMR water pump pulley and installed them. The chirping noise has remained the same.

Strange noise for sure
Yes it‘s annoying, but I’m afraid to let a dealer touch my car. If it’s any consolation to you, I’ve driven my car very hard and have used nitrous multiple times and it still runs great.

Good to know. How many miles do you have?

I've owned more coyotes than most here and I've never heard that. I'd start with pulleys. Idler pulley might be a bit on its way out, and when it heats up the noise goes away as the bearing clearance expands. Thats not a normal noise. My guess is one of the idler pulleys.
