Maybe gas is very expensive in the area? That's the only thing I can think of.

But for real, how are you only getting 18 mpg on the Ecoboost?
16gal tank, would mean $5/gallon gas...pretty sure nowhere in this country has that at the moment...but maybe internationally.

As for the 18mpg, once you dip into boost there's really nothing eco about it.

You definitely don't... but I guess it depends on how you define "slow". I normally leave everyone at the light, but don't go over 40 mph in a 35... in a 70 mph zone I normally will do 10 over and not more.

I guess if you want to do 150 mph in a 70 mph zone, yes, get the GT. :D

But heck, we have a guy in Germany who does just that and he has an eco... no real complaints from him... ;)
Stop lying.

By the way, my GT and my wife's eco return similar gas mileage on our similar commutes. Get the GT or you'll regret it.

No, seriously.... Glenn G I have no reason to believe he is lying.... his videos don't. He is a legend over in the Ecoboost section. ;)

I don't know in UK but in France it is about 5.6 USD /gallon once everything converted.
I bet UK is about the same or maybe even more expensive.

$5/gallon sounds like a good estimate across Europe.

To add to the thread, with a GT you can get 200 to 250 miles before needing to refuel (and still having a little bit of safety margin). Meaning you may need to refuel every other day if you have a 60+ miles to go to work :(

I have an EB right now and it's nice. I'm a college student who has to commute to class everyday and it gets good fuel efficiency (usually 23-34ish) mpg and that's 95% city driving and minimal freeway driving for me. Tank usually lasts about a 1 to 1 1/2 weeks for me and I rarely pay over $30 for gas (here in Arizona).

Anybody care to chime in and say how much they are paying for insurance on their eco or GT? I would wager to say there is a significant difference yes?

I'm in NYC, 50, married , no accidents or tickets, Geico.
Eco= $900 for 6 months.
GT= $1650 / 6 months.
That is what made my mind up.

I was looking at Ecoboosts but decided I'd rather have a GT especially when I can find low mile used GT PP for what I'd pay for a new EB PP.

$7 a month more for a '17 ecoboost vs my '16 GT. I was beside myself on that. Was also cross shopping WRX/STIs...I'm saving a lot of money over that crazy quote.
