I'm looking at a 2016 Mustang GT with an automatic transmission to replace my 2004 GT. I'd prefer one with a 3.55 rear gear but came across one that is a good match except it has the 3.15.

Does anyone have an estimate of the number of shop hours it would take a qualified mechanic to install the full Ford Performance Differential Housing Iron Loaded With 3.55 Gears like this one? I'm not able to do this type of work myself anymore.

I'm asking about number of hours because shop rates vary so much across the country.

Thanks.

I can't say what flat rate would be but after doing this on my car I could do it again in 3 to 4 hours.

Thanks. I'll budget maybe $400 labor to hopefully be on the safe side.

With any luck at all my next Mustang will be safe and sound in my garage next Saturday.

You may find you actually like the 3.15's. I would give them a chance.
