2013 Shelby 1000 Mustang Revealed at 2013 NYIAS

Take a gander at the 2013 Shelby Mustang revealed today at the 2013 New York International Auto Show. The Shelby 1000 is built off of a 662-horsepower 2013 Shelby GT500, making it a high-end Mustang with a howling 5.8-liter V-8 and packing an astounding 1,200hp or 950hp for the street-legal version. :hail: The Shelby 1000 was showcased at the Ford floor display near the main entrance of the Jacob Javitz Center.

What a badass car!! Love the look of that open gaping grille it looks like it could swallow small animals whole on the road! Were you at the NY show? Anything at all about the S550 model?

Huh? That's not real carbon fiber right? ugh they used some kind of CF applique on the splitter, side skirts and diffuser... Way to cheapen a 160k+ car.

It's a sexy car, but yea it's part of the carbon fiber overlay kit listed in that last image there. What's the curb weight of this thing, ~3800lbs?

Just came back from the show today. This and the super snake behind it were really the only thing from Ford that interested me. Yea, there was the Raptor too which is one mean truck, but Mustang wise that was it.

Hopefully Ford is gearing up for next year.
