The GT dynoed 370RWHP/353RWTQ BONE STOCK.

After adding their competition catback, it picked up 30RWHP/25RWTQ. So 400/378 after exhaust only. No mention of any tune at all.

WOW!!

No way. I don't believe that.

Link to article with proof?

Still don't believe 30RWHP from just a cat back swap. What are 11-14 owners currently seeing on a catback? I thought it was pretty much a sound thing and maybe 5HP.

This catback setup now includes the Xpipe to replace that suitcase resonator...I think that is the big difference.

Maybe the "suitcase" is a bigger impediment to the backflow than we might expect. That's a very big uptick. And yes, in general, on the S197s, you would see less increases, from what I recall looking at various systems.

Says up to. Must be tuned I bet. If it's a direct swap and that's it then that is nuts. I'll believe it when I see it. That video showed nothing.

What is that a 14.9 % parasitic loss? Not bad if my math is right

Everyone, enough with the off-topic nonsense. Respect the site's wishes and keep the thread on topic.

When I had my 03 Cobra, it was the general consensus the drivetrain loss was 15%. No clue what folks use these days. But 370RWHP does equate to 435HP if you assume 15% drivetrain loss.

Awesome I knew Gibson was fudging those numbers with a 22% loss...for shame Gibson

Over at SVTP, they just posted up an article for the MF competition catback. The GT dynoed 370RWHP/353RWTQ BONE STOCK.

After adding their competition catback, it picked up 30RWHP/25RWTQ. So 400/378 after exhaust only. No mention of any tune at all.
That's an +8.1% RWHP and +7.1% RWTQ gain. Disregarding the baseline accuracy for these dynos, if we apply those percentage gains over to the official crank numbers, then you've got a good 470.2bhp / 428.4lb-ft... those are some solid numbers.

Catbacks from Borla or Bassani also included an x-pipe and even then the gains were 15hp max. '11-14 GT's had individual resonators in the overaxle pipes that were quite restrictive from a visible perspective, but removing them still only showed minimal gains.

I'm not believing either Maggy or Gibson with these graphs, not to mention the graph only going to 6,500rpm.
