I like to disassemble things.
Hey Epiphany, Matt, Socal ....
Has anyone found the 'R' start up snake?!
I reached out to a gentleman that does custom stereo setups and I believe works for Ford as well and asked about doing this. The issue is that the R only came with the 8" screen or the radio/Nav was deleted altogether. There was no 4" screen R system so you couldn't load the larger R snake from boot up.

That said, I hope somebody comes up with a way and proves me wrong. I do plan on adding the factory Nav and I assure you that when I do there will be a red cobra at start up.

On edit....if you have a Tech Pack, you may very likely be able to do this. Track Pack, nada.

I wonder if we can flip HD Radio on or do we need another APM beyond the one we have since it already has NAV?

Thinking about this a little more I wonder if we have enough control to figure out what the limp mode cutoff temp is and change it to be a little bit higher? At least on the the dash readout 300 degrees is the "red zone".

Hey Epiphany, Matt, Socal ....
Has anyone found the 'R' start up snake?!
Thanks for reminding me. After a little more tweaking in a hot ass garage, I found it.

APIM module

Code:
Address Values Effect
7D0-02-01 5553 0602 C04A Mustang GT Anim.
7D0-02-01 5553 0702 C04B Gray GT350 Anim.
7D0-02-01 5553 0902 C04D Red GT350R Anim.
When you write the value, the first ignition cycle probably won't show the new animation. Either do a reset on the APIM module via the Service Procedures (wrench), or just wait for the APIM to naturally cycle (probably after sitting for a bit).

Now, this address likely can bring up any of the other Sync 3 splashes there might be. Either the base Mustang or Focus RS or whatever. But I didn't try playing with anything else. I did just run a normal GT through the downloader though and did find its value. But again, didn't try it.

I'm going to put together a Google Sheet to start tracking these Mustang specific changes. Anyway, enjoy.

Again, you're only going to find stuff in the CAN configs that is variable from model to model, option to option. Things pertaining to how the engine operates is just going to be set in the tune. A proper tuner would be able to figure that and the exhaust values out, but again, that's going to be a full-blown tune.

That out of the way, you really, really do not want to set the limp cutoff any higher. 300 degrees is bad news inside a transmission. That's why they set it ~20 degrees lower.

If that extra 20 degrees could just get me through a 20 minute session! LOL Fair enough, I'll wait for Ford Performance to release their trans cooler sometime before the end of the decade.

Ok, just to confirm...
Disabling double horn honk is:

BCM -
726-41-02
0001 0000 0071

Right??

Or am I changing code in line 726-41-02 to 0000 0001 0172

Sorry, I haven't pulled it up yet... which I'm guessing would give me the answer.

I found them on this chart, and the "double horn honk disable" correlates to the numbers 726-41-02. The three columns of numbers that follow are the ones I used to change in the GT350...

The same 726-41-02 numbers came up on the screen in Forscan so we entered in the appropriate data in each field for the GT350.

Just like that, no more horn honks when exiting a running car.

Yes, that's correct, the latter.

I've created a spreadsheet with all that we've gathered from this thread. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1k0ZBnLT5CnHuL6BbkKg0AxhCmNlE_0Zev3zVnyz-5_A/edit?usp=sharing

I've included different values for different models where applicable. Coding is going to change model to model and year to year in some cases. The bits that toggle the thing in question are usually only a part of the address, so it's wise to keep the rest of your initial setting where possible.
