Had this problem with my 2006 & 2013 , both after about 30 months .
Both times repaired under warranty , no questions asked .
Find another dealership .
If you don't mind be by asking, how many miles were on them? I am 98% certian that my warranty covers it and that the service guy just didn't want to deal with it. That last 2% though is that my car is at 85,000 miles so it's relying solely on the extended warranty. Just need to make sure there wasn't any fine print somewhere that says it's not covered.

Both instances were at about 30,000 miles .

Just saw this corrosion on mine yesterday. Built Oct 30th 2014 and has 21,000mi on it now. So get Ford to fix it or get a TruFiber A72 hood and do it myself???

Can some of you post up pics of what you are seeing/documenting as hood corrosion? Is it only on the underside where the seam is sealed?

Mine had 2 spots on the hood passenger side seam that had corrosion spreading out. I didn't notice it until about 2 weeks ago.

Took it in yesterday along with the door latch recall. Will have it back in a few weeks. Ford warranty will be covering it. 30k miles.

Mine is at the dealership getting hood redone due to a small spot at the end of the hood. Covered under warranty which expires in another 3k.

Depends if it actually falls into the "body corrosion" warranty. From Fords warranty policy:

"Your vehicle’s body sheet metal panels are covered for an extended
Corrosion Coverage Period, which lasts for five years, regardless of miles
driven
. The extended warranty coverage only applies if a body sheet metal
panel becomes perforated due to corrosion during normal use due to a
manufacturing defect in factory-supplied materials or factory workmanship.
For damage caused by airborne material (environmental fallout) where
there is no factory-related defect involved and therefore no warranty − our
policy is to provide free repair of paint damage due to the airborne
material for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first."

I hate to sound like a Debbie Downer, but even if the hood is repaired under warranty, is no one concerned you now have non OEM paint, and the issue is likely to just happen again in a few years? I am not looking forward to having to have my hood painted every 3 years.

Edit - there are warranties that essentially last forever (well, at least a semi-reasonable usable life of the car). When a car has an issue that can not be repaired such that it will not re-occur manufacturers often extend the warranty. IE: BMW water pumps, fuel pumps, Nissan tire wear on 370z's , etc etc...

That's exactly what I'm concerned about. But I won't have this car in approx 2 years. Let the next owner worry about it
