Yep. Then when it spanks the shit out of the Z28.....Well...enough said.
I honestly don't think that matters to them. And that's why they don't matter to us.

We're fat and still look damn good.

Camaro6 guys are going to have a field day with this. They call S550 fat all the time.
Who cares. They won't even discuss the z/28 and GT350 performances in the last couple of IMSA races. Likely because the results do not fit their narrative.

If its 3650 with a full tank, I guess not too bad.
Yeah -- if it's the same size tank (16 gallons), the gas is ~96 pounds, so with a 1/4 tank it's ~3578 -- just a quick SWAG.

3650 with A FULL TANK?!?

That's pretty awesome actually.

Ford is being very confident here.

Not trying to cut corners with 1/4 tank numbers, etc.

They must be very sure of this cars ability going forward.

Figure a full tank adds 100 lbs (6.2lb/gallon x 16 = 99.2), 10 quarts of assumed to be 5W-50 (using 1.5lb per quart x 10qt) oil would be ~ 15lb, and coolant using the GT (~15.2qt from the GT PP, the 350R should have more) weighs ~35.5lb (using 15.2qt at approx 9.3lb/gallon)

So figure approx 150lb in terms of fuel, oil, coolant. (not counting trans, brake, diff fluid) would bring the dry weight near 3500 lbs. Obviously not driveable in that setup but still pretty impressive considering what it is and all the safety requirements mandated for cars to be sold in the US.

Guessing a GT350R w/ Electronics will tip in around 3725. I'll be hitting the scales with mine when its delivered

It was the opinion of some people that the shipping weight represented the lightest car of the model with no gas, which would be an R without tech pack or anything else. It still may not be correct, but it's not far off from what has been said here. If the curb weight listed is for the R, minus a full tank would put it right near the shipping weight of 3512, again if that value was even real or correct.

Vorshlag weighed in a 15' base GT at 3595. If you guys think the R weights 55lbs more than that I have some great swamp land for sale.

Think how light it would be if you removed two or three dozen of those airbags it has.

With how many components removed that would have been there when shipped?

Why would one think the GT350 is that much lighter than a base GT? 90% of the parts, the meat of the car, is the same. Bigger brakes, little different aero to the car, some suspension tweaks, but still a big engine about the same size as the 5.0.

I wouldn't expect a base Gt350 to be very different weight than a base GT

The R is different as it has the CF wheels which knock out wieight and a bit more stripped I believe

If the non r ends up being 3780, then there is some hope that with lightweighting it could dip below 3700.

-remove resonators
-lighter wheels
-remove back seat
-remove trunk stuff
-lighter driveshaft
-?
