  1. '16 Camaro Reviews are starting to hit the sites.

Who knows...I'm sure people will get to 500 hp/tq. Probably for a bit more than $2000 though. I could see those numbers happeneing with e85, dp/exhaust, tune, intake. It remains to be seen if the drive train will be able to handle those numbers. I'm sure tuned rs cars will be a good race for...
  2. GT350/R Mustang Performance Numbers (0-60 and 1/4 mile) from MT

The FI gt you speak of would require some serious mods to trap 150 in the 1/4. That car wouldn't even be street able IMO. Not to mention the fact that the s197 platform with SRA would be a better starting point for a modified drag monster. The 918 spyder also carries a certain class/status, and...
  3. 350 vs SS in a straight line......

A miata is a good track car, so is a subaru br-z...both of which are considered slow in terms of acceleration. A c6 corvette is a track car, so is a Nissan gt-r. Neither of which are considered slow in terms of acceleration. Just because it's a track car doesn't mean it should be slow in...
  4. 350 vs SS in a straight line......

It *was* the right car for me...I'll stand corrected if we do see some track package cars hit 11's. It doesn't look promising though. Trust me, it hurts me to see those numbers. If 12.4 is what they managed...do you thing the track pack will pick up .5 somewhere? Maybe a fast 1/4 mile track, but...
  5. 350 vs SS in a straight line......

That article just sealed the gt350s fate for me. After countless visits to this forum and drooling, pining, obsessing, fantasizing...all to find it barely matches the old boss 302 in terms of acceleration....so disappointed. I was hoping the track pack would be able to dip into the 11's. I can't...
  6. Ouch...Void Insurance!

I live in Texas and I received a "warning" a few years ago for blackout cover lenses (2012 5.0) and the cop asked me to take them off so I did and he sent me on my way. Put them back on 10 minutes later lol...I was also speeding which is why he pulled me over in the first place, also got a break...
  7. GT350 1/4 mile

I'm with the others and hoping that this is an 11 second car. The mags really need to test this car at 11.9 or lower. Somebody said the truth that the Chevy boys will never let up on this if it is a 12 second car and the ss runs 12.3 regularly. And despite the great on track performance it would...
  8. 2017 Ford Mustang will outperform Chevy Camaro in every way

The main difference between Fords recalls/issues and gm's, is that gm knew about the issue and kept it quiet. Years later they got busted. I don't care how you slice it, that is very shady business.
  9. 2016 Camaro Official Specs!!!

I'd rather spend 40k on a focus rs than a camaro. That little car might be a few bolt ons away from low 12s. Based on my experience in the st, it will feel better on the street. It might not have the laptimes, but I feel like the focus may surprise some people when the tuners get their hands on it.
  10. New focus RS performance revealed.

I beleive 100% that this car will be in the high 12's...a 4.7 0-62. The 0-62 tests are obviously a little conservative when compared to 0-60 which is what the auto mags test here in the us. You can bet ford benchmarked the sti with this one, they definitely topped it. My ex had a focus st, and...
  11. 2016 Camaro Official Specs!!!

I'd buy a used boss 302 before a newer camaro or mustang, I doubt the boss will be too far behind the gen6 ss on the track. The boss will have it in the 1/4 though...the boss 302 runs 12.3 reliably, and dips into the 11's with a tire. I was really hoping the s550 gt was going to match that in...
  12. 2017 Ford Mustang will outperform Chevy Camaro in every way

I don't know about that, most people who buy vettes probably never take them to the track. When you walk into my local chevy dealer you'll see stingrays in the showroom for 60k minimum, all the way up to 75k. If camaros are sharing the same space with 40k minimum up to 50k, alot of people will...
  13. 2017 Ford Mustang will outperform Chevy Camaro in every way

I see what he's saying, the numbers are very close despite the weight difference. It does make me scratch my head as to why chevy would do this if the numbers are true. Why spend 55k+ on an auto stingray, when you can have basically the same performance for 40k with an auto ss. That 15k jump...
  14. 2017 Ford Mustang will outperform Chevy Camaro in every way

I'm curious to see some street races, and 1/4 mile vids on the ats-v...they seem to be trapping 114,115...then suddenly 122 in the test against the m4/m3 and c63 amg. Where did that extra 7-8 mph come from? The ats-v could be a good barometer for the gen6 camaro performance in the best case...
  15. 2015 WRX

I have a 2015 wrx and I love it so far. Needed 4 doors, gf doesn't have a car, couldn't get a second car at the time. I had a bolt on 2012 brembo 5.0, so I have an appreciation for mustangs and high hp v8s. Which is why I lurk at this site despite not even owning a mustang at the moment. I have...
  16. C7 impression...may offend owners

My dad is 260 but he's only 5'9 so hes definitely on the fat side. He had a c63 amg and it was absolutely badass. The complaint he had about that car was that it was too small. He mainly complained about the sport seats. He tried a few other cars with sport seats and he liked none of them. He...
  17. 2015 5.0 and Ecoboost in this year's Car & Driver Lightning Lap

If ford offered a better track pack with the items mentioned above with mrc/suspension tweaks/tune/exhaust, it might have my money over the gt350. Really, the track pack gt350 is closer to 57k...15k is a nice gap for the gt.
  18. 2017 Ford Mustang will outperform Chevy Camaro in every way

A few people are forgetting that the ats-v has a twin turbo power plant with an immense torque curve. Certainly helping the quick 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. Is this thing really trapping 122? Seems a little funky. Not to mention the ats-v, and stingray are higher on the pecking order than...
  19. GT350 vs. Z/28

I cant believe such bad ass rides are just sitting there. One other reason I think the z28 is tough sale is because the cost to operate the car as a daily driver is way too high. Between the gas mileage, tires, and brakes, it clearly isn't a car you could daily unless you were rich, but the rich...
  20. GT350 vs. Z/28

Realistically, chevy could have taken a 1le and shoved the ls7 into it and that would have been an immense value. The 1le is 37k otd, the difference would be less than 10k to swap the ls3 for the ls7. That car would have had my respect.
