The 1LE is a great performer. Too bad it looks and sounds like sh!t. The Mustang interior is better and the vehicle is more useable too. The GT350 seems to be the answer that combines each of their strengths, I can see why it's considered the ultimate pony car still.

That grip on the PP2 is going to be incredible. 305s all around.

If you really thought a 2015GTPP car wasn't too different than your 2005GT, I have to question your objectivity. It's night & day between those two cars, they're not even close to one another.......and I've owned a 2005GT and a 2016GT PP car.
I drove my '05 Mustang to the dealer, took a 15 minute test drive in the '15 GT PP, and was underwhelmed. My subjective thought/opinion was that it wasn't that much different than mine. What else can I tell you? :)

The overall size was the same, the view from the cockpit was the same, the dash layout was mostly the same other than the center stack. It was a brand new car with less than 50 miles on it, so I never went full throttle or even got past 4000 rpm. Objectively, I knew it had IRS and 435 horsepower, and 10 years worth of new technology. Even though I wanted to like the new GT, maybe I was ready for a change after being in a Mustang GT for the past 23 years?

Bottom line is now after owning the BMW for two and a half years, I want to go back to either a Mustang or Camaro.

...about a month or so ago and test drove an m240i and my mustang absolutely destroyed it in every aspect.

You might not have to go all the way to a PP2 to get what you want.
The Mustang destroys the BMW in every aspect? Okay. :)

Anyway, the PP2 is what I think I want. I want some kind of special edition. The regular Camaro 2SS doesn't fit the bill, but the 1LE does. Neither does the regular Mustang GT, but the PP2 should be a little more rare and special.

The PP2 works for me, and I'm definitely cross-shopping it against the 2SS 1LE.

#1 reason I won't drive a Camaro is the LT1. Look up valve coking on the LT1. Ford did it right by using the dual fuel system, shit they know too that their ecoboom engines have all sorts of valve coking issues.
same thing happened on Lexus IS250 which only had DI, IS350 had DI/PI and always had clean valves.

Well it had less body roll, better brakes, much more power, and felt more nimble. So For what I was looking at in a sporty car it did. But that’s just my experience after owning one and driving the bmw. Maybe I expected too much out of it.

That's cool, just sounded like you were bashing the M235i. No problem.

I took the BMW to Lime Rock this summer and ran 70 laps. No issues. It's a good little track car. Best lap was 1:07. Best lap in my '05 Mustang was around 1:10, but that was on all seasons. No doubt a stock S550 would be a lot better than my '05. I'm not out to set any records, and they don't give out any trophies at HPDE track days. ;) I passed a lot cars on the track, but I also got passed by a GTI and a Corvette or two. It's all good.

I want a fun car, something a little special, comfortable, but also capable on a track. I only do one HPDE track day per year (since 2007), so that means 99.7% of the time, I'm not on a track.

Looks and sounds are all subjective. Too bad the mustang will overheat on the track. :-/

hmmm, GT350 = 60k or 1LE = $41 - $45k, same lap times... hmmmm which one? lol

Gt350 over a 1LE everyday and twice on sundays, is this a real question?

Camaro, where?

Awful lot of Camaro owners popping up lately.
I wish they would drive them on the coastal roads I travel so I could "spank" their **&^%.
