Very nice Dave! Bummer about the video.
Ya it sucks, I was so disappointed when I got home late last night and started to upload the video and got nothing from the main camera.

Are you doing Atlanta with MVP in November?

Viper and Cayman are the only other cars I would have considered for a track toy :)

(too bad that they're stopping production on the Viper)

My track buddies that I run with are all Viper owners except for me and another guy with a C7 Z06. This weekend we had a 2008 ACRx clone, a 2010 ACRx, a 2016 ACR, and my little stock powered GT PP Mustang. Needless to say at a long fast track like Road America I was outgunned.

Not sure yet. I want to, but too early to tell just yet.

Good laps Dave. What does it weigh with the cage but stripped out? Hope to cross paths with you guys somewhere. We should start an event thread, we have one over at TMO.

It weighs too much, the cage adds nearly 235lbs installed I had it stripped down to under 3310lbs and still had glass and other items I could start spending money on to reduce weight, then we added the safety and as it sit it is at 3650 with fuel, add me in there and well its heavy. I was worried about the total weight in the beginning but have since backed off of trying to squeeze every little bit of weight out of the car. I can easily get another 100 lbs out of it without spending a huge amount of money but to get 200 more out you have to spend $$,$$$ lots of money. I decided to spend my mod money on track time and tires this year. That is a decision I have not regretted one bit.

The car is deceiving, it is a big car and even with the weight it drives much smaller and lighter than it is. It does however need about 100 whp more or loose about 400lbs and it would be a better match for the chassis.

I am going to Road Atlanta with MVP on Nov. 19th and 20th if anyone wants to stop by.

Dave

ddozier Nice Laps!

My first track day in my Mustang, brand new Hero 4 recorded all of one lap of my instructor driving. My old go-pro that I beat up Karting I had put in the rear window, worked flawlessly :frusty: GoPro replaced Hero 4 (my Wife convinced me not to smash it with a hammer) So I feel for you not getting all the video.

This was my first time out on a road course and after my first session I hovered in the mid/high 1:30's. I left the nannies on and just focused on technique and eventually started to feel the nannies holding me back on my 4th session (cutting throttle, etc). I hope to go back with a slightly better tire and turn a few nannies off and get back to working on those fundamentals.

Previous best was 1:21.30. I think I can get it down to a 1:20 even on this tire setup; they ran out today and I didn't push it after this session. :( Later this month maybe.....
