Hi Folks. This is my first post on this forum. Anyways, I'm interested in buying a new Mustang GT, and am wondering about your opinions on pricing with the Z-Plan (two retirees in the family) vs. the "internet pricing" you see on every dealer's website.
A few days ago, I test drove a base '16 GT with one option, the automatic transmission. MSRP: $34,490. A/Z Plan pricing is $31,443.80 (I took a copy of the invoice home). Ford is also offering $750 cash back, and $1,000 for veterans (Semper Fi!). So, minus the extra $1750, the total price before TTL is $29,693.80.
I see a car equipped the exact same way (same MSRP and color) at Koons, with an internet "Wow Price" of $28,681.00. Are these kind of quoted internet prices legit? Are there caveats in terms of financing with the dealership, or having to qualify for multiple rebates?
Would a dealer like Koons knock anything off additional off the Z-Plan price? I've always heard that the A/Z Plan deal can't be beat, and now I'm not sure.
I also worry that going with the Z-Plan might preclude me from taking advantage of any end-of-year cash back deals as the '17s start rolling onto the lots. In that case, I think the Z-Plan provides price parity between the '16s and '17s.
This is an issue, because I'm most interested in Guard and Deep Impact Blue cars, two of the three colors that aren't coming back for 2017. And as a I understand it, the '16s ceased production earlier this month, so I'd like to move before the end of the month.
Off topic, I'm surprised Koons comes up so much in these forums. I've been there numerous times getting my cars serviced, and never thought much of their work or their sales efforts.
Thanks for your help, all of you. Any info would be much appreciated.
