I am probably going to swap out my OEM mufflers with Steeda x-pipe with a Roush axle back system. Before I do I want to get a base line of my current set up then compare Just how loud the Roush system is. Here is a vid of what the car sounds like .

I would have expected a bigger burst of sound on cold-start.

I would also have someone stand by the side of the road and measure as you go by at 3000 RPM in like 2nd gear or whatever is reasonable for the street in question.

Personally I'd leave well enough alone.

I wanted to test it the same way the state would test it and wanted to have the car tested in the same position with both exhaust. So I marked the floor and have the db meter on a stand in the same position level with the tips. Also you may be right about the cold start. I started cold and move the car into position, turned it off, then let it sit for about a hour or so to cool down before making the video. I did the video in one take.

the road-side test is just to get a tonal/volume impression while traveling under load. It's not meant to be scientific as such.

the roush was loud. then i did a xpipe and thought it couldnt get any louder. then i did catless headers and after cleaning my underware i put the oem suitcase back in and its so loud i scare people who arent expecting it a rev causes a sharp pain in the ears at 7 feet behind. if i did it over again i would get a borla catback. this makes me want to check with my phone. what app did you use?

Thanks for the info I downloaded two of them and check both of them to see if there was any different. But they both read the same. And do you have the oval type mufflers or the canister type. Here is the one I have
