WTB Mirror with Turn Signal

Looking for a pair of mirrors with the incorporated turn signals. I'm stationed in England and in order to get it to meet safety standards they had to attach side turn signals just above the 5.0 Badge. If I could somehow do it myself I would but I can't find any info on it.

Also, anyone have a wiring diagram for the taillights? They also messed with those and put a little LED strip under the taillight housing. Almost impossible to see during the day. :frusty:

Might be a silly question, but what models didn't come with the turn signals in the mirrors? I originally thought they all did, but clearly not.........which leads me to this video.

ShipMyCar perform a neat IVA conversion and you'll see they have 3 small LEDs on the side of the mirror at the 19 second mark. Probably a quicker and cheaper option than new side mirrors......

Be aware, if the S550 has an SJB (Smart Junction Box) like the S197, these "temporary" IVA conversions can cause the SJB to fail. My car was owned by a US serviceman in the UK and it had a temporary conversion..........which I then had to get remedied.

The Premium Package models have the turn signal mirrors, the base models do not. I take it you had ShipMyCar do the conversion for you? I'm thinking of doing the turn signal like the one in the video. As for the rear turn signal, I might have it reversed so I have the sequential turn signal and leave the LED strip so it'll pass safety.

No, my S197 was rewired by a good friend, but he restores cars and knows his electronics, so it was in good hands. Even better, he received payment in beer and Chinese food :cheers:

I've not used ShipMyCar, but that video certainly impressed me.

I do know another company that does SVA conversions, but they're based in the midlands (Wolverhampton) but I can give you a contact number if you're interested. He uses a very similar solution for the mirrors, so might be able to supply you with the parts you need, if you're doing it yourself. Let me know if you want that number.

I bought a single mirror off eBay to see if it will work. I will have some repairs to do to it as well as paint but it's all good. I want the factory turn signal. If the blind spot works after hooking it up so be it. If it needs MORE to have that work I will swap the mirror glass to have the offset blind spot mirror on it.
