Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the best channel to post to, but since it's wiring related here we go.

I'm trying to undo the harness cover on the driver side door sill. I cannot figure out how these clips work in popping it off. I already undid the tape at the ends, and cut the zip ties holding the wires against it so I'm not sure what's left or if these clips are just really difficult to undo. Has anyone done this before and have any tips?

I'm trying to run an active exhaust harness through the cover alongside the factory harness which is why I'm trying to undo it.

Would anyone know the Ford parts shop part number of this plastic cover by any chance? I found a part number printed on it, but can't find the related part number that exists on Ford's parts website. I've been searching this forum for any leads as to how to undo this but no luck. I want to see if I can find it in Ford's parts site to see if there are any diagrams I can use as clues as to how to undo it.

Printed part number on the plastic cover: FR3B-14A099-AE >PP20TF<

On your second pic it appears there's a small ramp on the "catch" which applies a preload to prevent inadvertent disengagement....or....that may not be a ramp, but rather the locking mechanism itself. Regardless, it appears that the narrow ramp or block is key to removal.

I'll give that a try after work. I got the Hayne's Manual for the 15-23 Mustangs in the mail today, but unfortunately in none of the sections it mentioned undoing this wire harness cover.

I'm going to mention @LevittownFordParts . Give them a day or so to respond. They can hook you up with PN#, pricing, and availability of items. Levittown Ford  is a 6G site sponsor.

Hi Sean,
This part # is valid but is deemed discontinued. Based on the age of the vehicle my guess is that this was never a serviceable item and is only included with the wiring harness.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you @Skye and Benny, appreciate the info!

I figured as much, as it looks like it is a part of the body harness. I'm assuming if this ever was damaged, this is just something the shop replaces entirely so there's probably no documentation on how to unclip it.

I'll try again this weekend and do as @Snakebyte suggested in taking the clips off, and be as gentle as possible.

Will update with how it goes, thanks again!

Good morning, hope everyone is having a good Sunday!

I gave the harness cover another go yesterday, using an interior panel pick, and got the harness cover off. I included a picture of the tool and the clips on the harness cover that gave me trouble below.

I was able to lay the new active exhaust harness in there, and put the cover back on (except for one of the clips, but that's fine).

Thanks again to everyone who commented for their help, I appreciate it a lot!
