wings soundproofing visible?

I noticed today that when my GT doors are open you can see what looks like black polythene wrapped soundproofing or similar at the back of the front wings from sill to top of wings,never seen this on any other manufacturers car I've owned ,it's as if a covering plate is missing.I take it all GT cars have this?,bit tacky I would suggest and maybe waiting to get torn,maybe a weight saving idea?.

Now I think about it could they instead be airbags??

I think this might be the foam I've heard about on the US section, most just pull it out if that is what it is, funny as I notice the same foam in my Fiesta the other week when I opened my drivers door.

Kept meaning to post about this for months.

Thin black plastic bin liners with something inside. Looks pretty naff.
