Tank is topped off with subzero washer fluid, jets are clear of any snow/ice/debris, I can hear the pump working when I attempt to use it, but it just shoots blanks.

Any suggestions before I take it to the dealership? I feel like an idiot pouring bottles of water on my windshield and it's getting super dangerous on the highway when vehicles in front are kicking up slushyshit that doesn't wipe off cleanly.:frusty:

Hi,

In many vehicles with this symptom, the rubber hoses pop off the jet nozzles under the hood. Open the hood, follow the black rubber hoses to the jets and see if they are still connected. If disconnected, reconnect and you should be operational. If not, follow the hose to the washer pump usually located on the washer tank, and check hose connection.

Thanks,

it is the crappy module ford uses for the washer system. google it.

our 14 explore sport was in 5 times before they could finally track down the correct part to make the wipers and washers work.

Found the problem. The tubing that attaches to some T connector for both jets is loose and I can't reattach it because it's inside the hood. It is now at the hospital

If you ran the washer fluid reservoir dry, disconnect the lines as recommended above. Then try blowing some compressed air through them.

Sometimes, the gunk that accumulates at the bottom of the reservoir fluid can clog the jets  Happens all the time in my Wife's '07 Trailblazer, and doing this has saved us at least 3-4 visits to the shop

Congrats on getting it fixed quickly. I'm with you on this salt/debris/gunk BS. I used the washer jets more yesterday than I did in my other 4 months of ownership. The roads are terrible.

My issue is that I would only get a little spritz each time I pulled the washer lever. I tried several steps to resolve the issue.
1. Removed hood panel to disconnect nozzle to determine linked hose or dirty nozzles. Nothing came out of the hose so I assume nozzles were clean.
2. Took it in to dealership and they gave me a quote to replace the water pump. (I got an aftermarket pump myself.)
3. Removed fender lining to access pump. Replaced pump and still no output from pump.
4. I checked the pump to reservoir grommet. Saw it had a gooey gunk around the filter attached to the grommet and the reservoir drained.
5. I cleaned the gunk off the filter. When I replaced I noticed more gunk came out when it drained. Connected grommet and pump and works fine.
