Recently bought a used GT350, 2016. The car had 4600 miles when I bought it. When I tried to used the windshield wiper no liquid would come out. Naturally I went to a gas station to refill the container, but much to my surprise the fluid container and motor were cut out by the previous owner.

As I sit waiting for the parts to come I wonder why anyone would do that, weight savings maybe but I also found and extra wire attached to the fuse box that connects to a black tubular small motor where the windshield liquid container use to reside. I am lost, can anybody tell me what is going on here?

Some one here removed it to put in a oil pump for a transmission cooler on his tech pack. Not saying its the same car, as plenty seemed inspired to do their own aftermarket cooler in the same style.

Interesting, what is in there now seems to be some type of cooler. There is a switch on the right side of the dash that when turned on it starts some kind of pump. Nothing on the owners guide does it show a pump there. Leads me to believe this car was driven very hard.

That switch starts the pump for the transmission cooler. Based on your location, I believe you have the car that belonged to one of our forum members. His build thread was widely read and highly praised. I thought his choice of mounting location for the pump was ingenious. I never use the the windshield cleaner in my cars because they usually spray everywhere and using them on a hot windshield severely shortens wiper blade life. You are fortunate to have a major issue solved that many of us are still dealing with, which is a overheating transmission causing the car to basically shut down (limp mode). By the way, the only reason the previous owner sold the car was that he was able to locate a GT350R at MSRP, which is miraculous.

Eric,
Thank you for the Information. The salesman told me the same story about the trade, I hope is the same guy. The car is magnificent but to be honest I was a little mad at the dealership for not knowing anything about the mod.ll
They offered to make it right..Do you recommend leaving the the pump for the transmission cooler in? And if so how do I know when the car's tranny is overheated, does the car warn me? As you can tell I'm not a professional driver or a mechanic, hell it takes me five minutes to get out of the car.

John, Most definitely leave the trans cooler in. It's already proven to work. He even posted a video showing the trans temperature with and without. He had a gauge called an N gauge, I believe. You may need to research that. You should only need the cooler when driving hard for a period of time, like at the track. But I would run it all the time because it doesn't hurt anything to do so. Also, some owners have reported hitting "limp mode" by just driving at normal highway speeds for a period of time. I've never experienced it, but there are several threads in this forum that you can read first hand cases. The bitch of it is, when limp mode kicks in, you lose 90% of your power and it can become a real safety issue. There is no warning ahead of time, but you get a message on the instrument panel when it happens and a code is stored in the car's computer. By the way, I believe that car also has a clear wrap treatment on the front of the car which is not cheap. It's great protection for the paint where it needs it most. Congratulations on your purchase. Enjoy.

You should read the "Forscan tweaks" thread in the top section of the forum, and enable the transmission temp reading so that you can tell when you would need to turn the cooler on.

The pump that ford is recommending for the rest of us has a thermostatic switch, dont think it would be good to run the pump all the time on the street as it may keep the fluid too cool. If I remember correctly - the previous owner only used the pump when driving on the track

Texas Gator I did turn it on the other while street driving just to see but man it sounds very loud, almost like a weed wacker, not sure if I want to leave it in. I went after Ford for not knowing the car had mods. They ordered the windshield wiper and motor and promised to make it right.

I haven't been to the track and right now waiting for Ford to fix the major recall before I drive it hard. The car is my primary driver most of the time, too much fun not to drive it unless is bad weather and for that I have an eco boost F150 4X4 super crew.

I have never been on a track and I'm doing research now because is something I always dreamed of doing, the GT350 is way too fast to open up on the street.
