Will these wheel/tire setup size work?

Ok I already ordered a cheap rear drag setup I'm now paranoid that it might not work. I currently run 20" vossen cv7 wheels 20x9 up front with size 245/35/20 tires and 20x10.5 in back with 295/30/20 tires.

After confirming with a few forum members that 99-04 17 inch wheels will fit in the back, I ordered two 17x9 Saleen SC style wheels for the rear and two 275/40/17 nitto nt05r drag radials to swap on for when I go to the track. This will be run with the 20" vossens still in the front.

20x9 with 245/35/20 in front
17x9 with 275/40/17 in rear

My question is, will the difference in diameter between the front and the rear make anything funky/unsafe, or alter performance?

Would I be better off going with a 50 sidewall tire? It makes the overall diameter close to sfock. Was trying to figure this out before they ship the tires so I know whether to cancel my order or not, but there's not a lot of info out tbere!
