tire allows for more contact patch thus providing more grip and stability. Now that being said every wheel width has a ideal tire size to run, for instance you can pair a 19x9.5 wheel with a 305/35/19 tire but your only really using the same as a 285 tire at most.I'm also newb here, what's the benefit of going wider on tires? Does it give you much more traction compared to the stock 275 size?
