like what i say, in canada the gt350 price is the same with the gt350R in usa.
i do not know why,if i am in usa i can buy a gt350R,but in canada my only choice is gt350,because the gt350R for me is very expensive in canada so every time i think about it will make me a little upset:brokenheart: and in Toronto also need high tax,13% or 14%,i know in USA some province or city no taxes, when i know about that, my heart is realy borken
Based on my calculations the base GT350R in Canada is about $3500 USF cheaper than the same car in the U.S.

I do not have the MSRP prices in front of me as I am travelling today but if I remember correctly the base MSRP price in the U.S. is $63,495 with the base price for the same car in Canada being $81,749.

With the Canadian dollar being at ~73.5 today that would equate to $60,085 U.S.

Taking into consideration the exchange factor between the two countries pricing in Canada is very good right now.

Unfortunately where you get hammered is on federal and provincial sales tax (HST) plus luxury taxes.

Taxes in B.C. for the above for example based on a base GT350R would be ~$12,265 and if you add any options to the base GT350R the OTD price would be ~$100,000 CDN.

Taxes aside your base price when converted is better than the U.S. but once taxes are added in you are more expensive dependent on the state or province you are comparing to.

Exchange rate...

And even if you purchase the car in the US where the taxes are less, I'm sure Canada will still nab you for them when you register the car. Same thing happens in the US state-to-state. I bought my car from a private party in Tennessee and then had to pay the tax on the purchase value in Michigan before I could register the car.

There are little ways around avoiding paying taxes and most of them will land you in a cell...

I paid, with all taxes included (no adm), exactly $84,064.37 cad. for a GT350 Tech with stripe.
At todays exchange rate that is $61,780.24 usd.
Also my personal income tax rate is 49.5% and it will be going up. In Canada if you want $1.00 you have to earn $2.00.....and then you pay 13% on any product/service you purchase......and it's "F"ing cold.

The weird thing is...the new Focus RS in Canada has a FAR lower increase in price, compared to our neighbours in the south (in comparison to the difference of the GT350 from Canada - USA).

We don't get options choices for ours, so they come fully kitted for $48,669 + taxes

The US pays $42,275 (same equipment) for the same car...or $6.5K less.

The difference in base GT350's is what...$15K? Percentages aren't even close.

Maybe the same reason the US imports passenger vans and pays to convert them to cargo vans, the Tariffs are cheaper on the passenger van so the conversion equates to saving money. different items have different taxes.

I don't care how much you make.
If your paying 49.5% tax, you need a far better accountant ;)

nothing is free
Obamacare is free, right??

Do you guys also have local taxes and our equivalent of SS and medicare taxes? Once you factor in federal, state, SS, and medicare, we are also about 50/50 with how much goes to the gob'ment. Then 10% sales tax and hefty gas/food/property taxes as well

One difference in Canada is not many R's.
But you can buy a GT350 at MSRP.
Don't feel bad about 13%, I have to pay 15% tax here.
OH my god, 15% tax, where are your city? it is really very high!!
