Ok I don't know how much response I will get to this but I'm going to try....I am going to have some extra money in the next couple of weeks and I'm seriously thinking about adding either a SC or a Turbo kit. Basically what I'm trying to accomplish here is to get some info on which is better, pros and cons, upkeep costs for each, and what is needed for a complete setup of each, i.e. other items needed to complete the installation. I have been reading about them here on the forums, but I'm still not really understanding the pros and cons. I'm basically looking for the vendors here to give me the info, and then price out for me packages for both options, and brands. I will base my purchase on who chose to give me the best information, pricing, and is willing to work the most with someone like me who is a novice. Thanks in advance for those who choose to help me out.

Im in the same boat as you with a slightly different issue - i need to pick between Procharger and whipple before Whipples final sale day next week. Has a big impact on pricing for the compare. I'm getting tired of reading and watching vids lol. Wish i actually had some around me to experience in person

Ya I'm not set on a Whipple, I'm open to any brand, I just don't know enough about them to know the differences, which is why I'm asking, along with a Turbo option

Ya I have noticed that they are the preferred brand, the only experience I have with one is the one I saw on the CGS Mustang, and it made a noise I can't explain, kind of like a deisel engine I guess, either rattling or squeaking or something when idling...didn't like that, sounded clanky and I know it was done right because it's a big shop, and they built the Mustang for SEMA, I'm sure you've seen it

There is a last chance to get on the 23rd. That is my D day for decision.

So much to think about - Road tracks - daily driving - long 4 plus hour road trips (whining might start to get on my nerves lol) - procharger simple install and remove - whipple sounds great when at play

decisions - decisions  - Im sure i will be happy once I pull the trigger either way

Allow me to be frank with you...

This is exactly the type of research you should do on your own, and not rely on a vendor to "sway" you one way or the other.

Determine your needs and goals, and get the power adder that will come closest to meeting those goals.

If you need to have a vendor spell out what is needed to install your kit, then maybe you are just not quite ready to go down that path. Financially, sure....but with the proper understanding, no.

Learn from research, and not from biased opinion.

No right or wrong way to go, but just make sure you have a full understanding of what you are getting yourself into before taking the plunge into the deep end.

There is a popular saying of, "you gotta pay to play"...that's not talking about the cost of the supercharger and possible install.

Ya mines basically just a DD, maybe some trips to Vegas and back, I probably won't track my car...and ya I'm looking at that date too, unless I can get the same deal or better form anyone else after that...

Good advice, thanks...wasn't really looking for anyone to "sway" me though, just looking for knowledge from those who deal with these every day, but I understand what you are saying, thanks for the advice

"Sway" may not be the correct term, but I'm referring to you asking the following:

...I'm seriously thinking about adding either a SC or a Turbo kit. Basically what I'm trying to accomplish here is to get some info on which is better, pros and cons, upkeep costs for each, and what is needed for a complete setup of each...
No such thing as one being better than the other. What are you after?

You need to determine if you want Turbo or Supercharger. (Exhaust Driven or Belt Driven)

If Supercharger, do you want a Twin Screw or a Centri blower? (Flat Torque Curve or Linear Power)

VMP, Whipple, Kenne Bell or Vortech, Paxton, Procharger

If turbo, do you want a single kit, or a twin turbo?

How much boost do you want to run?

How much power are you looking to make?

Are you willing to risk longevity for power?

Where will you use your power? Stop light to stop light driving, or on a Track? Drag Strip or Road Coarse?

What is your budget?

Now what is the real budget?

Ok, now seriously, what is the official budget?

Have we accounted for upgrades to the drivetrain, suspension, and tires to accommodate the newfound power?

See what I mean....

Nobody can answer these questions on your behalf.

Best of luck in your research. Not a bad problem to have. Take your time to be sure you get the best kit for your needs. Be prepared to break some shit. Be prepared to have a few snags along the way. Be prepared to get very familiar with your car and the FI application. If not, you shouldn't do it.

Whitemare has a point, I'd do some research cause in the end, its a lot of money. We've had the privilege of installing and running just about every power adder on these cars for the 15 and 16. The main question, what are you seriously looking to get out of it? What are your end goals? How much power do you want to make?

I almost went with a Whipple. They make a great product.

I ended up going with procharger for ease of installation.
Whipple I would probably pay to have it installed. Also being in CA we only have crappy 91. So I would want to go E85, for which I would need ID1000s.

1500 for install plus 900~ish for the ID1000s plus custom tuning ~600

Plus the initial higher cost of the Whipple, made me swing to a Procharger.

My goal is 700rwhp on E85. I have yet to install it as I'm saving a bit to have OPGs and timing sprocket installed before I throw the Procharger on.

This sounds like the same path I have been heading, was just about to fully swing to say Procharger, then bam! Whipple sale (which i would definitely pay for install). On the fence with Procharger install, starting to slowly back off the self install even tho it seems pretty straight forward. My concern is if its not, having the car stuck in the garage lol. My demands are a little less. 550 to 650 hp, very subdued under normal driving, and longevity over power.. Occasional road and strip play. Definitely not an area for an impulse purchase.
