Whipple Intercooler fans necessary?

For all you guys with the whipples installed... is it an absolute must to purchase and install the IC fans? That $400 could go towards powder coating the blower housing.

I would choose the fans over coating any day. Fans are an actual performance improvement, coating is just appearance.

My installer, who does 1000+ HP race builds, told me that the fans were nearly necessary at high output levels, especially for daily drivers/those who sit in a lot of traffic. The heat soak issues, especially in those hot Virginia summers, will really make a difference.

Definitely worth every penny of the $400 to add them. I live in New England and have hot weather only 1/2 the year so I installed a toggle to shut them off when not needed in the cold months or when trying to order my iced coffee in a D&D drive through
