But those Icebox are only for the short racing period used on those cars, nor for daily drive.

You can use them for daily driving. Its basically a larger tank that has a big opening that allows you to pack it full off ice on track nights.. was popular on the cobras and GT500 . Nice option to have..super cold water means low IAT2..I don't have one but its nice knowing its available if need

The ones that I had seen, was a large container that actually held the heat ex-changer in it and you fill it with ice and water.

But I guess the one that you're referencing is just a larger size tank than the normal size and the heat exchanger still remains in front of the car.
