Interesting, but then building code in Michigan requires a substantial amount of snow load support. Maybe not that much in a small area, but whatever. Makes a good news article. :-)

I believe we’re the same here, snow load and wind speeds are factors in our building codes (but I’m not in construction so I could be off there).
