Hi everyone! First post...

I have asked on the UK mustang forum but to be fair 6g seems a little more informed and active.

I have recently (7th Feb) ordered a GT and was disappointing to discover that Comp Orange had been deleted. I was even more upset to find Ford haven't released the replacement colours yet too... It seems a bit off that i'm told MY16 colours are a no but the new ones are yet to be released...

Provisionally i have ordered black with the hopes to change this when Grabber Blue is released.

My question is, when will this happen?

Ford have quoted 9 months delivery but I've also heard 12 months. I hope of course its the former!

Look forward to reading more and getting myself worked up into a bigger frenzy whilst i wait for the Stang to arrive....

Tack

:welcome:
I believe the MY17 order book opens in April so I'd imagine you'd get the new colours then. Drop an email to [email protected] and see if they know more.

April.

As it stands the mustang can't be ordered in the following colours:
Competition Orange
Deep Impact Blue
Guard

It also can't be ordered in the MY17 colours UNTIL APRIL, which are the following:
Grabber Blue
Lightning Blue
Magnetic White (metalic White)

I'm sure you could change colour on your order once the new ones are released. May cause a minor delay, but providing the car hasn't reached serialisation at the time it will probably be a quicker option than cancelling the order and waiting for the new colours.

Yes you can, until the order is locked in at plant.

Except I (and I'd venture many others) were never made aware of 'when' the order is locked into the plant. So how do you know when the cutoff is?
Me too. Down to dealer incompetence/laziness.

when the vehicle status goes to committed the dealer can only change the colour, trim and options.
generally around 4 weeks before the vehicle is due for build the vehicle is locked in the plants system and is no longer amendable.

Mine was locked in before the 14th Jan and it's hopefully getting built the first week of March, so that was about 8 weeks before build.

I was locked in, in october, I ordered in August, I was however 'locked-in' because my car was meant to be built in November originally (Dont get me started!), I was built 2nd Feb though. Didn't need to change anything anyway. Dealer never told me when I was locked in, always had to call him to tell me!

I ordered my car in August and test drove in December. After viewing a customer car they had delivered with the black roof I tried to add it to my order on 9th Dec. My dealer replied on 11th that I was unable to change as fully locked into system so no changes can be made. I got told my build it due for beginning of March so that is at least 10 weeks before build.

Order has shown "Committed" all the way through this process.
