Wow, are you serious???? Looks like they will be replaced sooner than I thought. That is very heavy for a 19.
um, they are 10.5" in front and 11" wide in the back. This is about as light as you can get with a cost effective wheel that will meet OEM strength requirements.

Lighter is either going to be very expensive or very fragile by comparison.

These wheels are lighter than the 19's on the performance pack GT. You can only go so light with OEM aluminum wheels.

I had OEM 20X9.5 AND 20X10s on my M3, they were both below 26 pounds. The OEM 19x9.5 and 19x10 were both below 23 pounds. Yes, the GT350 wheels are wider, but 31lbs are considered very heavy wheels. Not saying its anything horrible, just wasn't expecting 31lbs. I guess that extra inch of width comes with a decent weight penalty.

For modern times over 30lbs is a huge no-no if you ask me. Though there are many companies other than OE's still to this day that make heavy wheels, we find that we have no problem building a 19x10.5 that weights 18lbs. We were even able to get this 19x10.5 down even more in weight. We're now pushing these out at 17.2lbs for our application specific R101LW wheels. A similar R101 Wheel for a GT350 in a 19x11 would weigh approximately 20.50lbs for example.

Weight is in KG just FYI.

They are cast that is why, if bmw has 23lb 19x10s they must be forged
BWM did use forged wheels on several of their M applications.

I think we all have to remember too that this car had to cut some corners in a few places for the price point that Ford was looking for. It is what it is. Want forged wheels? Gonna cost more. Want carbon everywhere? Gonna cost more. Complaining that it doesn't have M4 build quality of an $80K vehicle? Guess what...yep, gonna cost $80K.

That makes sense then, what doesnt make a lot of sense is Ford offering a forged wheel option for the Focus RS and zilch for the GT350. I wonder if they did this specifically to keep the performance delta between the R and base car wider

Oh I concur. Having carbon fiber all over the car costs more. I just jumped from a 2016 M3 to a GT350, so I'm not here complaining or to bash anyone or either car. I was just hoping the wheels were a little lighter than they are. It's not something that can't be changed. The benefit of light wheels are substantial......R model for example. I am acually glad to be away from the "my entire car is carbon fiber" crowd. Lol.
