Wheel Spacers & Winter Driving

I plan to use my V6 during winter (Canadian Winter). Would using Wheel Spacers + Winter tires and winter daily driving be a very very bad idea or am I being paranoid?

Anything to watch out for in terms of maintenance during winter?

A combo of snow tires and light throttle should be enough for you to get around.
