Hello everyone, I've been religiously researching pros/cons of wheel spacers for my new '22 ecoboost coupe.

oem rims were 17x7.5 37.5mm, switched to TSW Sebrings 17x8 40mm offset. I measured the distance from the tire to the inner fender and in order to just barely flush, the front would require 20mm spacers and the rear would require 10mm spacers.

I want to get 25mm (1") eibach spacers all around, is this a "good" idea?
Good as in assuming I follow all torque specs, aside from increased wheel bearing wear, slightly stiffer turning, and maybe some road rash, there wouldn't be any significant downsides?

And aside from taking a wheel off and measuring the actual stud length, would anyone be able to tell me if 25mm spacers would fit without filing down the oem studs? The rims do have a little recess in between the holes on the backside where the oem studs would be able to stick through but unfortunately I didn't think to measure that length when the rims were put on.

You shouldn't have any fitting problems with 25mm spacers. 8 months ago, I put 25mm spacers on my 2018 eco w/ the black accent package that has 19x8.5 wheels and 255/40/tires. I commute 70+ highway miles daily with no issues and I love the stance! Two cautions, the nuts that came with the spacers to hold them to the hub were cheap and easily stripped when I needed to replace my rotors. Had to have a mechanic get them off. If your spacer brand isn't reputable, buy some quality short, stainless steel lug nuts. Also, I didn't toque them to spec (150 ft/lbs) to the hub fearing they may crack. I only torqued them 90 ft/Ibs). Again, no issues and I am a rather spirited driver.

Thanks and yep I'm looking to go with the Eibach Pro-Spacers which seem to be one of the better brands. I think I'll still take off 1 wheel and measure everything just to be sure the oem studs will fit in my rims without grinding.
