207.9mph in stock s550 gt? all they did was add a supercharger? so how can the rest of the engine, gears, axles, shafts, tires etc... take it? does that just speak to how much better sports cars are made these days? it looked like it was a gt performance pack.

It was a GTPP but the first test was shy of 200mph. So they switched the gearing to a lower gear other than the 3:73 gears, don't remember which it was 3:31 or 3:15 but most likely the lower of the two. Yes they are much better made these days. Don't know what else they did to the car but most likely they replaced the half shafts as well and made tires other then the Whipple supercharger they added.

i figured during the dino test at redline being 194mph they probably wanted to switch out the gears b/c PP comes with 3.73. then i thought really, it wouldn't matter how low they went since 750hp (or whatever) would be enough to push it.

given that these are production cars and you're gambling with percentages in tolerances they must do a full inspection on critical parts huh?

i mean, think of the heat generated in the gearbox, wheel bearings. maybe i'm just too old school thinking that 200mph+ is a total game changer!
