What gear oil are you using in your 2015 rear end? I am upgrading to 3.55s and want to know what some of you are using and with which friction modifier?

Ford uses their new 75W85 "Gen-3" oil in the axles now. This oil has a much lower coefficient of friction that the previous synthetic Ford oils, though it does have the downside at making LSD locking performance lower.

It would be interesting to see some sort of comparison to other popular aftermarket lubes (Redline, Mobile1, etc). I think a lot of folks would like to know that. In my experience so far, even the dealers don't know much about the Gen-3 yet, and trying to find one that will sell it has been problematic.

To the OP - interesting choice of screen name; people will assume that you're a Torsen rep since its relevant with this car and the name itself is trademarked...

Not a rep just a fan. I had many torsens in many different cars except my ecoboost. I love torsen diffs so much I named my dog Torsen.

So just to confirm the royal purple severe gear 75w-90 already has the friction modifier? How many qts did it take?

Now that's good stuff right there. Speaking as someone that actually is a Torsen employee, I might have quote that or otherwise steal that for PR purposes. Got a picture of Torsen the dog?
