Yeeesh. I've bought the Ford Warranty on the last two. 100k miles and $100 deductible.

Ordered a Borla cat back system.
I absolutely love my borla system. Hands down the best exhaust for these cars.

The carbon fiber tips look incredible too. No matter which finish you got for the tips, it'll give it a good pop aesthetically. Maybe throw some high temp ceramic coating on the tips.

I got the polished tips. I was on the fence about buying a system for a while but since Iā€™m keeping the car and thought it was time for a nice Mod.

Ouch!

What is a steering gear? Part of the steering rack?

Don't know the labor or part cost but how much would a salvage yard rack cost?
I'm talking about the steering rack, for clarification's sake. The entire unit is being replaced.

While I typically try to DIY maintenance and repairs, I'm in a time crunch and haven't the time or energy to get it done myself...

Installed my Ford performance hood struts today. This product is awesome and will make cleaning the engine bay and just general maintenance so much easier.

Side note you really have to crank these suckers tight on the base pins so they don't move at all with the weight of the hood plus the pressure of the gas struts.

And yes I will be ordering the touchless engine bay car wash kit that one of you other members has once I get back from my vacation as I'm driving the car about 700 km round trip and she will get dirty again

Put an E-clip onto each bumper tab retainer. Zoom in to see it around the central black part.

Should be just enough to hold the screws up while assembling the bumper.

EDIT: Tried it out. Works good.

Correction: No it doesn't. It is still not enough larger than the square hole. A thin fender washer under the e-clip could help but I'm afraid that might cause a gap at the fender/bumper joint.

Meanwhile I discovered a better way to tighten the 2 10mm nuts. There is good access from above as shown. I happened to have a deep 10mm socket, long extension, and u-joint, all in 1/4" drive.

No more struggling with the fender liner and unsighted!

(I suppose this has been posted before but it news to me. I could have used this technique for years!)

Installed the Stainless Works active Redline catback w/ h pipe. I had been happy with just the stock active exhaust w res delete, and was worried this would be too loud, but itā€™s not. Definitely a much deeper tone. Iā€™m sure the Hellion kit is going to tone it down some anyways once I get it installed next weekend.

Also got an oil change today. The first one I did at 5000km and this one is at 14,900km.

I'm now ready for next week's 700km round trip to my mom's place!
