Hey guys, got me a cj pony parts shift knob for christmas and I'm gonna have to do some modding to make it work with my mgw. My question is, has anyone been able to increase the weight on one of these?

MGW has a new "Gripper" knob that is weighted.

I've seen their knob and it just doesn't appeal to me, I could always get a boomba later down the road or something

What didn't you like about the weighted MGW? I didn't like it at first either until I held it last week. It is done really well and their pony logo is nearly identical to the logo on our steering wheel. I would sell the CJPP and buy the weighted gripper if I were you.

After I recoup from Christmas, this will be one of my first purchases.

Just don't like the overall look of it, and it seems to big for my liking, honestly the cj knob is larger than I would like and no I don't have small hands lmao

Well guys I've had an idea, I should be able to add approx 25g oworth of weight to my set up. It will involve adding lead to certain things

First will be the mgw factory style jam nut, I'll add lead inside of the recess which should add about 15g of weight from what I measured

Second will be the knob itself, I'll have to get get lead down past the threads to the recess as the bottom, there actually is a pocket down there that should be able to hold roughly 10g of lead.

I'll try to keep everyone informed in case anyone is Interested

This one was a Christmas gift from my dad so I'm trying to find a way to make it match oem weight or possibly be slightly heavier
