Weighted shift knob?

Has anyone tried a weighted shift knob to smooth out the shifts on the 6spd cars? My previous car was a 6spd Volvo S60R which had the same ratchety shifter due to the cables. Adding a weighted shift knob was a very popular mod to smooth things out. Just wondering if anyone has tried this with the M82 yet.
