Water pump leak

I have a very small leak coming from the water pump. Only 8000 miles on the car. I am not sure it is coming from the o ring seal against the block but I don't think it can leak from any where else.

I am thinking this leak might be caused by shifting at 8k with my 350 manifold.

Can I upgrade to gt350 pump or is it the same thing?
