Hey all currently running the 3.6 pulley from the beefcake racing stage 2 kit for the vortech v3 on my gen 3 coyote.

Picking up a fore fuel kit capable of 1200rwhp on E85 for some room to grow. Anyone know if there would be significant gains changing out the pulley? Is the 3.6 kind of maxing out what the v3 kit is capable of?

just looking where to go from here with the build. Next step is a full forged rotating assembly for me. Not sure if I should be looking to upgrade the head unit at that time too

I went to I think a 3.3 with no issues, but didn't run it long, went to the JTB. Supposedly some people blew them up overspinning them. I haven't seen any on the JTB or YSI having issues overspinning, but both of those are a decent step up from the v3jt.

WTF is a V3? Renamed S,Si,SC, SCi head unit? Is it the H67B head unit?

OK Found it. Basically its a renamed S or Si trim compressor. You could run a 3.3" on it, and over spin it a little (I've always over spun Vortechs for over 20 years in the past, no biggie).

What is your goal?

typically a 3.33 100" belt, should work very well, combined with e85, you should see some nice gains

I've ran a 3.12 Griptec pulley with a 100" belt, made in the 900s on E85 with a V3 JT Blower. It was definitely overspinning it, but it still was making good power and great results. I ended up running a 8.8 in the 160s on my full weight, fully optioned 2019 10r80 car.

For most purposes, Run a 3.3 Griptec (don't buy the vortech pulley, it'll slip at this rate), and run E85. You'll make somewhere in the 800s and run mid to low 9s.

You're off some, there are two V3's, a V3 Si (not really used or sold for Mustangs anymore), and a V3 JT (which is more like the Paxton 2200 SL, slightly bigger blower than the V3 Si and better suited for Gen2/3 Mustangs).

There's also a V7 JT, which is similar to the V3 JT, except it is not self lubricated, as well as a V7 JT-B, which has a billet impeller.

I definitely agree though, the max RPM's Vortech lists for their blowers are just suggestions. I've also overspun them by a decent margin without issues.

v3si is still a regularly used blower, its your standard self lubricated blower on most applications including ford and dodge, other than the 18 mustang.

v3jt and 2200sl are essentially the same unit

v7 jt is an oil fed gearcase and a different blower altogether, although dimensionally similar.

v7ysi and ysib are larger units, similar the the v7 jt, but slightly larger, the b adds billet impeller

the jtb is a hybrid. it was a blower designed for a specific racing class, dimensionally similar to the ysib, but. shrinks the inside just a tad. we have found on most non race transmissions, this blower typcially does better, we ran quicker with our 10r80 car swapping down from the ysib to this unit. its one of the most efficient blowers they make.

great to hear. Once y’all ship my fore kit I can see how it feels on e85 and if it needs more boost! Lol

I will likely end up on 3.33 but that seems like it is the end of the road for both the stock block’s capabilities and the v3 head unit based on the research I’ve done, does that sound right?

e85 should net you 75 to 100 wheel by itself depending on the current fuel quality and timing :)

You can get a overdrive balancer and not worry about slipping on the head unit pulley
