Vortech Bap

Getting ready to drop coin on a Procharger system. I love the ease of installation and reversibility if I want to return it to stock. Plus I rocked a Procharger D1-SC way back in 1996 on my '94 Cobra and loved that thing.

I wrench on all my cars myself and will install the Procharger, but I HATE messing with electrical stuff on new vehicles. Is the Vortech Bap with wiring and relays easy to install? Is the Roush or JMS plug and play bap worth the extra coin? Not looking for the king of baps here, I'm sure they all get the job done, I just don't want to be cutting and splicing stuff unless I absolutely must.

hey Brian, I can only speak for what I installed in mine and that is the JMS BAP. Aside from 1 ground connection, the complete install was plug and play and it was very very simple. Good luck.

How is the VMP working for you? It is PnP like he said with a slight modification we can instruct you on how to do.

I have had great success with the JMS and would do it again over the VMP. I like commanded voltage vs constant as it helps extend pump life.

I'm not a big fan of wiring either. I had the VMP on my previous 5.0, but I will be going with the JMS on the new one. It appears to be the most straightforward install from what I've read.

Vortech BAP is pretty simple to install. Cut 2 wires, splice BAP into them and secure the ground.

yep, you basically splice in 1 wire, and ground and thats it, 15 minutes tops

Does the vortech bap work the same as the JMS? This will be for a daily driven car so reliability is important to me. Oh and I'll be running only 93 octane and not looking for more than 650-700 rwhp.

I believe the Vortech BAP supplies constant voltage to the pump. The JMS can ramp in the voltage based on pedal position. I'm going with the JMS.
