When I hit the start button, the starter engages and within a 1/4 second the engine starts.

but… MAN.. that fist kick on is scary…. I’ll record it next cold start. It does it every time, but it’s worse when cold.

it’s like rrrrrrrr BAM purrrrrrrrrrr..

Is this another ecoboost thing im going to have to get used to?

or maybe a purge valve?

Hello; Two wild guesses. First being you have a leaky injector on at least one cylinder. Second being you have started the car to move it a few feet and shut it off within seconds. Both wind up the same place. That being there is some unburned fuel in a cylinder at the next startup.
I learned about the short move on my car. I would sometimes park it outside the garage and later just move it into the garage for the night and only run it a short time. Next startup it was rough for a bit. I learned to let it run a little while after a short move. Does not have to get fully warm. Mostly till the idle kicks down a few RPM's.
Just a guess tho.

Hmmmmmmmm…. I haven’t done any “short start stops” yet..

But…. The leaky injector theory does make me think….

gonna have to go “test drive” another ecoboost I guess!!!!

Hello; Did you find out anything yet?
Not yet… the dealer has been INCREDIBLY slow is responding to my complaints. Almost like they know and are dragging their feet to get past their 3 month warranty. So, I had my lawyer send them a letter documenting the dates of my complaints. Hmmmmm. Suddenly they “put me on the waitlist” to get the car checked out.
