Well, after ordering my Ruby Red Ecoboost premium waaaaay back on May 23rd, I finally have my VIN number - and she's a beauty! No build week yet

I was wondering how my other coffee drinking, IPA loving, Seahawks bragging brothers and sisters are fairing with their orders. Please let us know if your dealerships (mine is Harris Ford in Edmonds,WA) get any stock shipments so we can drive down and check them out!
See you in the rain - with the "rain/snow" toggle switch on.

There is a chance my stock order will be here in late October. I am in the Puyallup area... I will keep you posted.

I am still waiting on the fence, not about a mustang but about what to get, vert (I know, only good for 4 months out here) or hardtop. Need to get into a convertible and see how much of a penalty box it is with the more narrow hip and shoulder room. My kids are only 7 and 10 today, but they are growing up quick! I know that my local dealer, Columbia Ford, who I know the owners really well, has a black Ecoboost that is in transit but not sure when it will get there. That is where I will buy/order, they are great to me and my family.

You are in Vancouver, but Columbia is your local dealer?

It is funny how different people can have different experiences with dealers. I have bought 7 new cars from Dave Brevik at Vancouver Ford since 2000, and every transaction has been flawless. When I picked up my special-order 2003 F150, he had all of the paperwork done before I got there, and I was driving it off the lot 21 minutes later (yes, I kept track).

In contrast, I helped my mom buy a 2009 Fusion from Columbia. We walked in the door with pre-approved 0% financing from Fibre CU through the CUDL program. It took 2 hours for me to get them to quit screwing around with numbers - (no trade, cash down, just tell me how much the car costs!). We finally came to terms on a price, everyone was happy, they bring the contract, and the payment is too high. It's pretty easy to figure when there is no interest - roughly $16 per thousand financed on a 60 month note - I do some quick math in my head and realize that they have jacked the starting price by almost $4,000.

I point it out to them, and they are like "no, it's not." So I grab a piece of paper and show them how $450 per month is $27,000. I show them that the amount financed (price of the car, plus taxes and fees, and minus down payment) is $23,000. I ask them where the extra $4k is coming from/going to.

They scratch their heads for a few minutes and then insist that they are right.

So I gather up my mom and head for the door. I said "Hey, we really like this car, so wash it up good. We are heading down to Vancouver Ford to ask them to dealer trade for it - so maybe she won't get to drive it home till tomorrow."

So THEN the sales chick says "Hold on a second, I just spoke to the finance manager and he says that you are right. He says that the computer made a math error, and that's what caused the problem. He is fixing it now."

Umm Yeah.

The computer. The one that your business relies on. That you can't do business without. Made a mistake. Because computers occasionally do random things. It was probably tired. Up with a sick kid all night or something. Good thing you have Larry Leisure Suit here, available to reprogram the application so that it will calculate correctly. 'Cause there's no way that you just tried to sneak 4 grand into a little old lady deal and got busted on it.

Funny thing (from my perspective) is, they got that sale that day, because my mom really liked that car - but they lost any future opportunity to do business with me. In contrast, the guy I work with at Vancouver Ford sits down with me at his computer, pulls up the inventory list, says "Here is how much we paid for that car, this is how much profit I need to make on it, and this is how much you can buy it for." He is upfront about holdback and dealer incentives, and we have been significantly under invoice on a couple of deals when the dealership could still make money on the deal.

So far, I have bought a 2000 Taurus, 2002 Expedition, 2003 F150, 2005 Freestyle, two 2006 Mustangs, and a 2012 Focus from the guy, and every single one of them was less than the Edmunds "True Market Value" for that car. Funny story on the Taurus - we bought that about an hour after closing on a Saturday night. We were trying to buy a different car and just couldn't get the math to where we needed it. That Taurus was the "loss leader" car for the next day's Sunday paper ad. They were advertising it for about $8k off of MSRP, so we paid $14k for a new car that stickered at almost 23. So their "Ad Car" was gone before they ever opened the doors on Sunday....

Anyway, I am glad that you have good experiences at Columbia. I just wanted to share my somewhat different experience.

Seattle area Race Red GT Premium build date of 10/20! Heading on vacation on 11/25 so hoping it gets here 4 weeks after the build.

I'm betting on one being at the Seattle Auto Show on the weekend before to actually see it!

Went to bickford ford to talk about ordering one. $1000 down and nonrefundable......no thanks. They should have plenty in for me to pick from mid November so I decided to wait. Going with 2015 GT Premium w/ Performance Package and color will most def be Guard Green.

Bowen Scarff Ford Lincoln in Kent, WA (between Seattle and Tacoma). '15 Mustangs are $500 over invoice, whether ordered or off the lot. Special order deposit is only $500 and is 100% refundable. They honor all the Ford letter plans (X-plan, D-plan, A/Z plans). They are a Costco Auto Program dealer. Non-commissioned salespeople that are actually nice and knowledgable. Lots of their employees own, show, and race Mustangs.

My car was on a train passing through Idaho when I talked to the dealer on Tuesday. Shouldn't be long now.

I did finally see a car, at the dealer in McMinnville, OR. I didn't have a chance to stop and look, besides I don't need to see one until I get mine.
