VIN and order tracking

I know info around this subject has been posted many times, but to someone new to the forum, or even a regular for that matter, because so many of the threads have evolved from their original posts, it has become hard to find certain useful bit's of information.

Which are the systems/websites that a customer can use to track the order or view the window sticker once they have a VIN (or part thereof) and what is the prefix that needs adding to the start of the partial VIN?
