The beast has finally arrived!

I have to admit seeing other mustangs on the road and walking up to see your own is a completely different experience. I am very happy with my panel alignment. Everything was in place, no bonnet pinch, no paint drips, the boot aligned very well with the curves of the car with no uneven gaps.

I spoke to the dealer about the quality compared to the yellow GT i hired from hertz (The Hertz GT had unfinished paint under the bonnet and boot, mangled bonnet on the tips which you can see from the inside and the list went on)and it was chalk and cheese. Ford changed their build process for RHD early this year and went through a quality control procedure with some production line refinements due to poor feedback from Ford Australia. You can definitely see the quality difference!

Quick question - what is bonnet pinch? I have read it few times in forum not never really understood :headbonk:

Also, did you use larkin or some custom plate?

Picked up my new GT this week, haven't had a chance to post any pics until now. I have only driven around 30kms so far but I love it already, its a drivers car.
I took it for a run around a very winding mountain road in the country close to home. The ride was little bit bumpy so when I returned home I checked the tyre pressures with the TPMS and found them to be around 41 psi. Just wondering if Ford increases the tyre pressures for the transport and shipping and the local Ford dealer never checked the pressures during pre delivery. Could I get so feedback as to what pressures the GT forum members are using on their cars.
The car is in good order and panel fit is fine, apart from the bonnet pinch. The only imperfection appears to a small rough edge paint belemish 2.5cms long on the edge of the rear bumper panel where it wraps around and attaches to the rear DS quarter. Hardly noticeable but the wife found it.

Opened the garage to see someone dented my rear fender with their door last night at Knox. Couldn't see it in the dark :( anyone know any good dent removers in Melbourne ?

Sorry to hear that mate, unfortunately the world is full of selfish pricks who have absolutely no respect for the property of others.

Provided the paint isn't cracked, those dent removal guys can work wonders.

Actually its my own version of the sto n sho. I liked the idea of not drilling holes in the bumper and because I had bit of a wait ahead of me for the car,(didn’t we all) I decided to make my own out of some ¼” aluminium sheet and some aluminium tubing that I had in my garage. I initially Googled Mustang Plate Images and that was where I came across the sto n sho plate holders. So one Saturday afternoon I went down to the dealers with a torch and tape measure etc and worked out how I was to go about it. The car in question was an ecoboost so I made up the bracket etc to fit the ecoboost but when my GT arrived it was different underneath and actually a lot easier to fit, just needed to drill another hole in the plate, no spacers or long 7mm screws need at all.:clap2:

Went a bit arty tonight.

today was the best day since we got the car so the following happened around 9:30pm
1)
stopped at the lights to get onto the freeway a golf r in black comes next to us and we knew he was gonna race so my dad quickly put it into track mode traction control off, theres a bit of a right turn when getting onto the freeway anyway as soon as the lights go green the golf r takes of immediatly while our mustangs to busy doing tones of wheel hop but as soon as it got straight we just took of and went flying past the golf r then he didn't bother racing we floored our car next to him but he didn't want to anymore i guess he knows he's cars no comparison with the coyote v8.
2)
after the golf raced with us we just put our car on cruise control and suddenly this ba xr8 goes flying past us i don't know why but yeh.
3)
2016 mercedes c63 amg stopped at the lights next to a new c63 amg we floor it so does the mercedes but we were in front by the bonnet then he took his foot of the accelerator and starts driving normally then we slow down an go behind him and over take him by flooring it then the lights turned red when we got close so me and my dad stopped but then the amg goes flying past us and it was a red light!!!!!

hope you guys enjoyed my experience, my mustang was on (track mode) while we raced with the golf r and the amg. need to really get that wheel hop sorted out
