Vent Shades on S550?

I tried the AVS vent visors and they didn't look that bad, but did not work

they would rub the top of the window if you open the door too fast and would let rain in the car because they did not cover window opening

Get some ceramic tint. That really cuts the heat. I have 30% all around and 70% in my windshield. Even with the tint you shouldn't leave your radar detector in the direct sun all day.

I have a radar detector and a dash cam so a sun sheild would not work in my car

You can get smaller collapsible sunshades and try to fit them around the equipment. Something like this:
