I have comp CR stage 1 cams with their recommended valve springs and seals in my gen 1 coyote. The valve stem seals keep popping off. The cam is 0.514" lift, which as I understand requires the below seals for clearance, along with aftermarket springs.
I opened the motor last winter because it was smoking at idle and startup and EVERY single valve stem seal had popped off. I verified the install procedure with comp and re-assembled with some loc-tite (R-680 retaining compound). It was fine for a little while, but I am starting to get more blue smoke from the drivers side, so obviously a couple have popped off already.
Are there any different style valve stem seals I can use? Anyone else have this issue? The factory style valve stem seal has a metal ring that sits under the valve spring to keep it locked in place. Is there anything in this style that will work for me? I can't monkey with this any more. The motor is in a factory five cobra and it's literally a 20 hour job just to get the motor out or put it back in.
