Using front wheel spacers to widen front track

On a car with R front hubs (long studs) is there a reason not to use 5mm spacers (or similar, basically thin spacers) as a fine tuning tool for front/rear balance while running wheels with stock R specification (not square setup)? Will that cause any interference to fender?

Good spacers are fine, I think you want hub centric and wheel centric which need to be of certain thickness - someone after me will certainly chime in on exactly which are ok. Thanks! I was looking hub centric only for sure. OP does not seem to carry anything below 8mm though. I would like to start around 5mm. Did anybody use 5mm or thereabout front spacers on R spec wheels? Any gotchas and where did you source them from?
