I've bought all my more recent Mustangs used. All GTs. 3 sticks, 2 autos. 4 S197s from 17K miles on the odo to 72K miles on the odo. Every one of them has been just fine. I've modded, supercharged 2 (soon 3), changed suspensions, etc. Sold every one of them in perfect working order.
The newer Mustangs are one of the most dependable, best engineered, fun to mod car ever made.
Nothing like the old muscle cars of the sixties which were maintennance nightmares. Parts didn't fit properly, especially aftermarket parts.
Look at the carfax. Check the oil and smell of the auto trans fluid. Look at wear around the seating area. Often that will tell you if the car did a lot of "ins and outs" from city, short term driving. I bought all these "later" Mustangs used in other states. I looked closely at the photos. Checked the car faxes. Looked the car up on Google and found most were from auctions. Most off lease. Use common sense. Look at fine scratches on the roof, trunk lid. That tells you that the previous owner set his coffee cup or jacket there. Not a good sign.
