I tried to install my Mishimoto catch can this evening, and it is a very tight squeeze (read: not a 15 minute install as advertised). I was able to get the crank case --> catch can line installed after putting the car on a lift, but the catch can --> intake manifold line is a pain in the rear.

Near the intake manifold inlet there is a grey sensor of sorts that I hit and pulled on several times and I'm afraid I've damaged it. The car runs fine with no issues, so I'm curious to find out what this sensor is.

What is the grey box near the center of the screen?

the grey connector has a plastic clip that holds it in place under the intake manifold
you probably just slid the connector off the clip
the sensor itself is on the block (much lower than the clip)

there are actually 2 of those grey connectors under the mani
they slide off the clips in opposite directions from center
so again just slide the connector back on the clip ;)

Thanks for your reply! I am having trouble determining if the clips ar actually slid off or if they are fine. The grey connector is how it appears in the picture right now, although it feels "loose". Is this normal and I don't have to worry?

I've had my manifold off so times that I zip tied the 2 grey connectors together rather than using the clips on the back of the manifold

In other words, you'll be fine

So to be clear the grey clips dont actually sense anything in the manifold, theyre just being held there?

correct
it's just a connector
the actual knock sensor is bolted on the block
