Upgrading Base Stereo

Hello All,
So since I have the Base GT, I do not have the fancy Sync 3 System (Wish I did).
But I am actually ok with the Base Stereo System that comes with the Base Model.
I like that I can attend to my phone calls, stream Pandora/Spotify and load my Favorite music to a Flash Drive and control all that through Voice or the Steering Wheel.
The only thing that I feel is missing from this Base Model Unit is a little Base as some music sounds a bit flat at times.
I am thinking about upgrading the speakers and adding a small Amp.
Nothing crazy, as I believe just pushing maybe 40 to 60 watts of clean RMS to each speaker should be good enough for me.
Has anybody done such a upgrade to the existing factory unit or have you any recommendations?

this is what I add to my car, sounds good to me, BIG improvement over stock system without going too much over the board.
